PTI, the sports strategy and technology consultancy, has been appointed by Sport Wales to deliver a Digital Infrastructure Mapping Pilot project as part of its Sector Resilience Programme.
Following a competitive tender process, the pilot – which will involve eight Welsh National Governing Bodies (Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Disability Sport, Hockey, SnowSport and the Welsh Sports Association) – will see PTI audit each of these organisations to better understand:
- What digital systems and tools participating organisations currently use;
- How those systems are being used in practice;
- How data is captured, stored, connected and reported;
- Where there are obvious gaps, risks, duplication or inefficiencies;
- What practical improvements participating organisations could prioritise.
The ultimate objective of this undertaking is for PTI to identify opportunities where NGBs under Sport Wales’ umbrella can work together to drive cost-efficiencies via an integrated network of technologies or to create shared revenue opportunities.
This new partnership builds on PTI’s recent work in the NGB arena, where they have previously worked with British Cycling, England Netball and Basketball England.
