PTI are looking for a capable and experienced IT Team Lead to work as part of our delivery team at the Coventry Building Society Arena. If you love owning the technology performance that can drive business success, we want you on our team. If you also love sport, all the better!

PTI work across a turnkey digital offering; consulting > technology selection > deployment / support > commercialisation. Working in our Venue Tech division, you will be the face of technology for our sporting clients and creating an excellent customer service experiences for fast-paced, 365 businesses.

CBS Arena are at the beginning of a technology transformation project to ensure the ground meets the digital expectations of their members, fans, and site users. This is a key strategic project for the club, as they continue to build on recent on-the-field improvements with off-the-field investment.

This is a high-visibility role which involves extensive contact with colleagues across PTI, our client at the arena, and in turn the arena’s sporting and exhibitor clients. The ability to communicate effectively and to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation is an essential and exciting part of the role.

Objectives of the Role

  • Contribute to the operation and management of the IT engineering estate for your assigned client(s) including 1st, 2nd and 3rd line delivery as required
  • Provide leadership, management, and direction for the direct reports in your team
  • Ensuring the organisation’s security and data protection requirements are adhered to and applied to the infrastructure. Includes implementing and maintaining IT security policies and procedures
  • Provide onsite match and event-day IT support for sporting events, exhibitions and concerts that operate 365 days a year
  • Manage your assigned clients’ communication in respect of company performance against SLAs, project delivery in a structured and formal fashion
  • Manage and maintain the companies’ knowledge base article system relating to the client, ensuring documentation for the site is always accurate and up to date
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers required for the clients’ IT and communication systems and applications
  • Take ownership of problems – end to end accountability for end client satisfaction, regardless of the 3rd parties involved. PTI own the challenge, you will need to also
  • Assist with managing client-specific projects
  • Provide high level technical support to the IT engineering staff
  • Provide technical expertise in design, development and support
  • Operationally implement the clients’ approved IT strategy, as developed by their retained PTI CTO / Lead Technology Consultant
  • Provide excellent and effective internal and external customer service at all times
  • Ensure all paperwork relating to finished work is accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Auditing internal and end client systems and procedures
  • Any other duties specified by your line manager

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in the Sports and Entertainment verticals, or a related field, is a pre-requisite
  • 2nd-3rd line skills and experience in managing Windows server environments and Active Directory
  • Network & firewall technology experience desirable
  • Proven analytical and strategic, problem solving and critical thinking skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate proven results in driving technological advancement through strategy implementation
  • The ability to analyse technology performance trends and patterns to keep driving clients towards their success targets / KPIs
  • The ability to produce clear graphical representations and data visualisations to report against such KPIs for technology
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, layman’s terms
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new concepts and systems
  • Innovative and creative thinker able to approach complicated situations in a simple manner
  • Confident communication and presentation skills when speaking with all levels
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally
  • Full clean driving licence

  • Ensure knowledge base systems is kept 100% up to date
  • Ensure the client contracted SLA’s are achieved
  • Ensure all internal IT systems are 100% operational, at all times
  • Prepare your feedback and performance development plan for quarterly meetings with the operations director
