As the pioneering E1 Series works towards its inaugural season, PTI Digital is to provide expertise to develop and deliver a digital roadmap for commercial success.

The UIM E1 World Electric Powerboat Series, the world’s first electric powerboat competition, is looking to the digital expertise of PTI Digital ahead of its first season to establish a roadmap focusing on building audience engagement and commercial potential.

With an ambitious vision for success and growth, PTI will help in plotting the digital and data strategy of the E1 Series and provide strategic guidance on how to realise this vision, building the data and digital landscape and supporting commercial revenue opportunities through technologies deployed to grow the audience database.

Led by Chief Data and Digital Officer Daniel Brown, the PTI team will provide advice and a strategy to develop and implement the data solutions, website, app and OTT platform. Creating opportunities for fan engagement, PTI’s work will also grow the addressable audience of the exciting new on-the-water racing series, turning data into a tangible asset to attract sponsors and support activation.

Ground-breaking new electric sport series inspired by protecting the marine environment

Created by Formula E and Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag, alongside former director of motorsport at McLaren Rodi Basso and Dr. Raffaele Chiulli, President of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the UIM E1 World Electric Powerboat Series launched at Monaco Yacht Club in September 2020. The global series will compete on the ocean, rivers and lakes with a focus on driving forward the electric revolution in the marine industry.

The UIM E1 World Electric Powerboat Series has an exciting year ahead, with the RaceBird powerboat, teams and cities due to be unveiled in the next 12 months. Racing is scheduled to get underway in 2022.

Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of the E1 Series Yanni Andreopoulos, said: “It’s hugely exciting to be working with PTI Digital on developing a digital roadmap for the future of the E1 Series, creating new opportunities for fan engagement and building our audience database.

“Daniel and the team at PTI are industry experts in this space and have years of experience which we can plug into. I’m looking forward to getting started and strategically planning our digital and data technology strategy in partnership with PTI Digital.”

PTI’s Daniel Brown added: “At PTI, we have the ability to understand where the E1 Series is right now and the scope of their vision and ambitions. We are looking forward to bringing our expertise to align the technology along that roadmap and realise the vision.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the E1 Series on this progressive and pioneering new sports series from the outset. The team are focused on being innovative, future-facing and ground-breaking, not only in the events themselves, but also the digital capabilities, commercial opportunities and engagement with audiences, and we are looking forward to walking this road with the E1 Series.”
