2021 brings a new team member to PTI Digital in the form of Head of Venue Technology (EMEA) Mario Zambas.
Mario has been in the venue space for 20 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from across the industry.
Past experience includes overseeing the IT transformation and CRM business strategy rollout at Norwich City Football Club in the early 2000s, heading up the IT systems implementation for Dubai Sports City and the management of the IT project for Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit from build to deployment. Continuing in F1, Mario oversaw the IT deployment for the first three Abu Dhabi F1 Grands Prix before taking his expertise to launch both the US Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas and the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sochi.
On joining PTI, Mario says: “Now more than ever, sports businesses need to innovate and transform internal and external operations to future-proof, rebuild and expand. At PTI, we are in a great position to guide businesses on that journey. In my position as Head of Venue Tech, I’ll be exploring how we can use our combined expertise to initiate change in these organisations.
“PTI’s vision clearly aligns with mine around the potential to engage clients not just with venue tech but data, digital and commercial services in a holistic way.”
PTI CEO Mike Bohndiek adds: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Mario joining our team. 2021 is going to be full of challenges as sports seek to find their feet again in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and, as we move towards the return of spectators, longer term expectations on venues are increasing to deliver first-class experiences for all audiences. We’re excited Mario will be leading our work to support clients in rolling that out.”
